About the Business

Paw Pals began as a family run pet sitting business in 2005, established to offer an innovative alternative to dog kennels and cattery, or having to rely on neighbours or family for holiday pet care. A bespoke service was created which allowed pet owners to go away on holiday or out to work, and relax, knowing their home is safe and their pet cared for in accordance with their exact wishes. Due to the overwhelming success of the first Paw Pals branch the opportunity to franchise the business nationally was created.

With branches across the UK, Paw Pals is now run by Managing Director Susanne Cooke, who originally started out a Paw Pal herself. She managed her successful Salisbury branch for 4 years before selling on to the current owner. Now, with help from her dog Moe, Susanne runs the Paw Pals Franchise operation across the UK. Only the most genuine, caring and professional people join the Paw Pals team and our franchise recruitment process is extremely thorough.

All of our dog walkers and pet sitters are police checked, fully insured and are pet first aid trained. Our Paw Pals are also registered with the Pet Industry Federation, a trade association promoting excellence across the pet care industry in the UK. They also undertake a professional Pet Sitting qualification, accredited by the Cambridge Institute of Dog Behaviour and Training.

In addition to this, our branches offering a doggy home boarding service are also officially licensed by their local authority. This includes an annual inspection as well as strict regulations that we adhere to, so you can have peace of mind that your pets are in the safest hands possible.

Our Services

Pet Care Services:

Paw Pals offers an array of pet care services to suit the needs of both you and your pet, making your time apart from them as happy and stress-free as possible.

Dog Walking: Our dog walking services give you the flexibility to get on with your day, with walks at lunchtime, mornings or afternoons, so you know your dog can be exercised, cared for and played with while you can't be there. We can also provide puppy visits for playtime and toilet breaks for little ones not quite ready for walkie.

Any length from 15 minutes to an hour, the service is flexible to suit your needs and your dog's routine. Dogs are never walked in groups as we look after your dog exclusively to provide him/her with dedicated care and one-to-one attention. However, if you would like company for your dog, this can be arranged at special request.

Dog Home Boarding: If your dog would also like a holiday, why not let him/her stay in the home of one of our Paw Pals or one of their wonderful host families? They can become part of the family for just a weekend or for longer holidays too. Dogs must be fully inoculated and treated for fleas and worms in advance.

Cat Feeding/Sitting: A short visit provides all the essentials; feed, water, change litter trays, clean pet areas/accidents, basic grooming, administering medication (if applicable). Longer visits consist of all the above plus extra time for cuddles and playtime or extra attention, ideal for kittens, elderly or ill cats. Visits can be anything from 15 minutes to an hour. In addition to this, household duties such as bring in post, watering plants, switch lights on/off, close/open curtains and putting the bins out can also be included.

Small Animal Boarding: Your small pets can have a holiday too! Hutches and runs are provided to accommodate your fluffy friends, including rabbits*, guinea pigs and ferrets. Hay, bedding and daily fresh food are provided. Smaller pets like hamsters, rats, degus etc can board in their own cages, if easily transportable. Please enquire at your local branch for boarding for birds and exotics. It is recommended that rabbits are vaccinated against Myxomatosis and VHD.

House & Pet Sitting: Full care of pets in their own homes, including: feeding, dog walking, water, cuddles/playtime, change litter trays, clean pet areas/accidents, cleaning out of hutches/tanks, basic grooming, administering medication (if applicable). Visits can last from 30 minutes to an hour. A 15 minute comfort visit is also available to break up your pet's day.

In addition to this, household duties such as bring in post, watering plants, switch lights on/off, close/open curtains and putting the bins out can also be included. Please note we recommend a minimum of three visits a day if taking care of a dog.

Overnight Pet & House Sitting: A popular service for clients with many pets or who are looking for extra home security. Some clients book this service if they have a pet that dislikes being left overnight or one that requires closer attention due to age or illness. All duties as per the 'Pet & House sitting' service with inclusion of an overnight stay in your home.
