My name is Liz McCullagh, the owner of Top Dog Grooming. I have always had pet dogs which I enjoy and keep them looking their best. At the beginning of Jan 2009 I travelled to Oswestry, Shropshire for a month where I completed my City & Guilds in Dog Grooming. I also gained three diplomas in Canine Health, Safety & First Aid, Dog Grooming Practical & Theory, and Salon Management.
I learnt about all the different breeds and their coat types and the styles for specific breeds. I also learnt about parasites and other skin problems that can affect dogs and how best to treat a dog to minimise the risk of them occurring.
I know that it is sometimes hard to ascertain that a dog has a skin or other underlying problem and that having your dog thoroughly checked over and groomed by a professional can help uncover these problems before they become serious.
