About the Business
Animal Magic was opened in 1992 by Kerry Youngman who has worked very hard with her caring and dedicated staff to build up a professional grooming parlour with a good reputation.
For many years it had been Kerry's dream to open a hydrotherapy centre for dogs after seeing many dogs suffering with arthritis, injuries, and weight problems. After briefly owning Monty an English Mastiff who was morbidly obese and died at the young age of 5, she decided something needed to be done to help other dogs.
Kerry completed courses at the Hawksmoor Hydrotherapy Centre of Excellence in; Introduction to Hydrotherapy, Anatomy and Physiology for Hydrotherapy and Introduction to First Aid and Animal Care. Her colleague, Emily attended courses in Water Management and Hydrotherapy. Kerry then opened Animal Magic's hydrotherapy fitness centre so that they could help as many dogs as possible in around Colchester.
